Each year Esther Productions Inc. presents and essay contest--DISCOVERING ME...WITHOUT YOU-- inviting teen girls between the ages of 14 and 17, living in DC, Maryland or Virginia to submit an essay about the challenges of growing up in a home where the father is not present. The father may be absent because abandonment or death. He may also live in the home but is emotionally unavailable thereby acting as if he is absent.
