RESILIENCY DISCOVERED: Arts Healing
is a constellation of programs that provide tools and techniques, including some that deploy the arts--visual, literary and movements— to women and girls 14 and older struggling with unresolved trauma, which can aid them in developing a plan or effective course of action to result in their healing, self-actualization and empowerment.
Among the programs that comprise Esther Productions Inc.’s Resiliency Discovered Project are The Gift, Discovering Me, and Soaring Sisters.

THE GIFT: An Interactive Arts Healing, Reconciliation and Resiliency Experience was created, produced and presented by Esther Productions Inc. as a customized program for women and girls ages 16 and older struggling with unresolved traumas, especially those emanating from the adverse effects of father absence. It is presented by professional healing artists and clinicians. The program uses the arts to assist participants in recognizing their trauma and understanding its impacts on their personal and professional lives while helping them to develop a healing plan and charting a course of action to help them resolve those challenges. The results are improved mental and emotional health, improved personal and professional relationship, greater self-appreciation, self-love and enhanced self-actualization.

The primary program is followed by six professionally organized and led coaching sessions that seek to solidify each participant’s self-healing and self-reconciliation plan.
Discovering Me…Without You Summit and Scholarship Program is a year-long program that includes quarterly networking sessions and workshops for girls ages 13-18, who may be struggling with the adverse impact of father absence in their personal lives or in their academic performance. The meetings are designed to provide participants with a non-judgmental environment of similarly affected youth where all may freely tell their personal story about parental abandonment or neglect and where they may receive suggestions or advice from both their peers and adult advisors about how to heal, manage and overcome adverse conditions.
Equally important, participants meet successful women and girls who had similar problems and were able to overcome those challenges.
Within the context of the networking sessions, participants are encouraged to keep a journal of personal and creative writing that will assist them in developing a personal essay for both college admission and as a possible entry to the Discovering Me…Without You Personal Essay and Scholarship Contest presented each year by Esther Productions Inc. and its partner The Black Student Fund. Winners receive cash awards and other prizes.

Soaring Sisters Salon intersects with The Memoir Project. These informal gatherings of girls ages 13 through 16 use literary history and professional authors as primary and secondary mentors to support participants along their trauma-healing paths and as they aspire for personal and academic success, particularly in courses that align with the traditional humanities like history and literature.
